I recently went on a trip with a fellow who really likes his SOAR. After this experience, I'm seriously considering one for a couple future multi-week river trips. "Absolutely no regrets" is the phrase fellow river rat Bryan used when describing his 10 year old SOAR purchase. April 2006 saw a rare overlap of good weather, adequate flow, shuttle availability, and time off. This allowed for a 4-day, 42 mile trip through the Aldo Leopold Wilderness section of the Gila river. This section is so seldom paddled we essentially had no advance knowledge of camps, rapids, or hazards. After being on the river for 4 days through a variety of paddling conditions, I understand Bryan's statement. The SOAR could well be the best long-haul expedition inflatable canoe or kayak on the market today.
